Empowering Others with Our Stories

Sharing our recovery experiences, trials, triumphs, learning and lessons, is such an empowering and inspiring way to support others. With less opportunities for live connection in the recovery spaces at the moment, it's so important that we stay connected. Telling our stories is part of that, specifically so that we are able to own them, rather than them having power over us.

If you have spent time with us at The Foundation Clinic or are connected to the work that we do, and would like to share an account of your personal journey in recovery, we'd love to hear from you. We're looking to post a weekly story to inspire others. And whether you are in recovery, battling with a substance use or addictive behaviour disorder, or the loved one of someone who has been impacted by this, please feel free to connect.


We're looking for personal recovery stories, not professional support or advice, for our tribe to read and share. Stories that uplift, and stories that possibly make us cry. Stories that are honest and authentic, and stories that connect us to one another.


If you would like to share, please send us the following:

You can use your name or write anonymously. If you refer to other people in your blog post, please be sure that you protect anonymity.


In your blog please include:

  • Title

  • The main blog content (I will check the content and do a final edit, but I will not change the post).

  • An image that you would like to include.

  1. If you don’t have one, I will create an image for your post.

  2. Please make sure that you have permission to use these images.

    • A short bio on yourself if you want that included.

      • A profile picture.
